FREE · A COMPLETE SMALL JOB

Finish one small handoff.

Use your own folder or a selection of individual files to review filenames, choose a selection, and download a ZIP with checksums and handoff notes. Or learn the workflow with the fictional forest-pack sample. File contents stay in your browser and your source files are not changed.

Know the limits before choosing a folder

The free edition accepts up to 20 inventoried files, counting excluded files as well as selected files. An export can contain up to 1 MiB (1,048,576 bytes) of selected original file data. Generated manifest and handoff notes add a little to the downloaded ZIP size. Oversized inventories are rejected before any file contents are read. If your selected bytes exceed 1 MiB, deselect files before exporting.

The planned $19 USD one-time full offline edition supports up to 1,000 inventoried files and 100 MiB of selected original data, with the full downloadable app for larger handoffs. Purchasing is not yet open. Both editions use filename notices, selected-file SHA-256 checksums, and stored ZIP output. Larger limits are the full edition's concrete additional benefit.

Choose the right picker

Choose folder keeps relative paths and the selected top-level folder name, so those names can be checked. Choose individual files uses an ordinary multiple-file picker when folder selection is unavailable or you need a flat handoff. It preserves filenames only. The browser does not expose containing folders or relative paths in this mode, so ShipFolder cannot check or preserve that directory context. Two files with the same filename are blocked; rename a delivery copy or choose the folder mode when paths matter. Both pickers use the same free limits.

Try the workflow

  1. Open the free tool. The fictional sample loads automatically. Choose folder to replace it with your own small folder, or Choose individual files for a flat job. The picker inventories the files it exposes; hidden files may be omitted.
  2. Review every path and notice. In folder mode, the selected top-level folder name is retained in your ZIP paths and checked along with filenames. Individual-file mode has only filenames; no containing folder name is checked. Sensitive-looking names and common generated files start excluded. Blocked path errors cannot be included.
  3. Use search and filters to inspect selected, excluded, and flagged files. Reset selection restores defaults. A folder with more than 20 inventoried files needs to be reduced outside the app first, preferably by making a smaller delivery copy.
  4. Enter a package name, version, and notes. Review their contents too; your notes are copied into the output. Sample material does not grant licensing for your own assets.
  5. Keep the selected source bytes within 1 MiB, check the acknowledgement after your review, and choose Export reviewed ZIP. The export reads only selected files. Your browser downloads a new ZIP.
  6. Extract into a new empty folder and inspect before sharing. The ZIP contains selected originals plus __shipfolder__/manifest.json and __shipfolder__/HANDOFF.txt. Excluded names and bytes are not added to the generated metadata.

Compatibility

Use desktop Chrome or Edge with folder selection and Web Crypto support. Other browsers and mobile are not currently supported. Automated checks cover the free limits, both selection routes, original preservation and ZIP output. Browser support can differ; try the fictional sample first.

The downloadable free edition is intended to run after extraction with its application files kept together. Final offline compatibility checks are still in progress.

Free edition license

You may complete eligible small jobs with your own files for personal or commercial use, use the fictional sample, and redistribute the complete unmodified free edition under its license. The free edition's limits are applied locally by the public browser app; they are not a verified paid account entitlement.
